Cast coated paper uses a true cast-coating process: while the coating layer is still semi-dry it is pressed against a mirror-polished cast drum, transferring the drum's mirror finish directly onto the sheet — a level of smoothness and gloss that ordinary super-calendering cannot reach, and one of the highest finishing grades among coated papers.
The product is one-side mirror cast coated (C1s), mainly 70–90 g/m² and extendable above 250 g/m²; coated-side brightness ≥90%, with a compact, stiff sheet that resists folding and creasing and meets the conversion demands of label die-cutting, laminating and 3-D forming.
Applications: wet-adhesive label facestocks, beer and beverage labels, fragrance and cosmetics luxury boxes, postcards and greeting cards, garment hang tags, and fancy hand-made box wrapping papers.
Advantages: the mirror gloss delivers outstanding dot reproduction and image impact; even ink absorption (27–28% coated-side ink uptake) allows high press speeds with less ink lay-down; the water-based coating system is eco-friendly and biodegradable, meeting European and North American market access requirements; reel widths and diameters can be tailored to each label press.
